The history of the pattern of worship in the Parish has recently been exhaustively researched and written up. Until the early C19th the Parish consisted merely of scattered townships until the establishment of Dervaig village by MacLean of Coll, Laird of Quinish, with their members meeting together for worship at either Kilninian or Kilmore. Copies of the “History of Kilmore” by Hilary Peel, published by Brown and Whittaker in April 2005, ISBN 190435307X, are available from Tackle and Books, Tobermory, and Coffee and Books, Dervaig. They can be ordered by post from the Kirk Organist, Quinish Gardens, Dervaig, Isle of Mull, PA75 6QL. The cost is £9.99 plus packing and postage of £1.25, accompanied by a cheque payable to “Kilmore Church” at the time of ordering. |
